Cobalt Aero :: Newest Carrier Takes to Cyprus Skies

There is yet another aircraft logo appearing in Eastern Mediterranean skies after the demise of Cypriot state carrier, Cyprus Airways. It is #Cobalt Aero flying A320 aircraft. The new company is based in Larnaca (IATA Code: LCA)

Press reports indicate from July7, 2016 a regular schedule includes services from #Larnaca to #Heraklion (HER) #Crete on Tuesdays and Fridays with one flight returning on Tuesdays and the other on Saturdays.

Between Larnaca and #Chania (CHQ) also on #Crete on a twice weekly basis on Fridays and Sundays, initially.

Other points in Greece in Cobalt's summer schedule will be:

Larnaca - Athens to be twice daily
Larnaca - Thessaloniki to be four weekly (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays)

As for the UK:

Larnaca – London Stansted will be 6 weekly (except Wednesdays)
Larnaca – Manchester twice weekly (Thursdays and Sundays)
This will be Cobalt's inaugural scheduled flight for the new airline and flies on Thursday July7


and Ireland:



Larnaca – Dublin twice weekly (Wednesdays and Saturdays)



Cobalt Aero faces stiff competition already in place from the likes of easyJet, British Airways and Aegean Air.

Bookings are open on the Cobalt website with its excellent route map. You'll find #Cobalt flight numbers prefixed with the letters "CO" previously the domain of Continental Airlines until its merger with #UnitedAirlines that started in 2010.
